Literary unconsciousness or Can I borrow a couple of passages?
It appears Kaavya Viswanathan's first book, "Opal Mehta" is history. Little, Brown announced no rewrite will be forthcoming and the 2 book deal has been cancelled. Two more authors' books have been cited as sources of "similarities." No one knows what actions, if any, Harvard itself may take against Viswanathan in this matter. For a detailed chronicle of this train wreck, read David Zhou's articles at The Harvard Crimson.
Bloated prices of used copies of "Opal Mehta" can be seen at every online venue, but according to the The Book Standard, Amazon has the grossest. Free enterprise reigns.
Stick a fork in this topic- as far as I'm concerned, it is done.
